BEACHES

Bali has four beaches, which are formed in sandy coves with nice greenish waters and the closest one can be found 2km away from Troia Villas. The beaches are almost always calm since the bay of Bali faces to the west. They all are suitable for children and well organized with sun beds, umbrellas, shops and restaurants. There are also some beautiful beaches close to our villas that we suggest you visit.

- Panormos beach is a beautiful sandy beach which is fully organised with sun beds and umbrellas, showers, water sports etc ideal for families. The beaches are sandy and have clear waters. In Panormo there are actually two main beaches and a few smaller ones. As its Greek name implies (means place with natural port), Panormos is a natural harbour with calm water. The harbour (Limanaki) beach serves as the port of the area. It is sandy and the sea has clear water. It is ideal for families with small children, as it is shallow and its cement pier protects it from waves. It is well organised with umbrellas, showers, water sports and many options for accommodation and food around. Adjacent, on the east, there is a smaller sandy unorganised beach, not preferred by swimmers.

- Agia Pelagia beach is a long and narrow beach with sand and greenish waters. Also the water is almost always calm and the bay forms a tranquil harbour. The beach offers many options for water sports, diving, umbrella and food, etc.

- Geropotamos beach is named after the homonym river that empties in the east end of the beach. The small beach is sandy and has crystal clear water, which is very cool because of the river, which has water all year round and forms a small deep lake near the shore. It is slightly organised with umbrellas and a canteen that offers refreshments, coffee, water and food supplies. Despite the easy access, it is always quiet and not crowded. However, the orientation of the shore makes it vulnerable to north winds.

In the South coast of Crete you can also find some of the most amazing natural beaches of Crete like:

- Agios Pavlos beach. The main beach is a beautiful bay but be sure to walk beyond the bay to find the second beach of this amazing area which is famous for its sand dunes and is something not to be missed.

- Triopetra beach is definitely worth a visit. A sweeping stretch of sand,  it is named after the 3 rocks which rise proudly from the sea and has a few tavernas.

- Preveli beach is a famous beach and an area of natural and protected beauty with a beautiful palm forest. Preveli beach is located at the mouth of a river that comes from the imposing Kourtaliotiko Gorge. If you walk up the side of the river you will find some rock pools in which to swim which takes the experience you will have at Preveli beach to the next level.

Additionally, “Schinaria”, “Damnoni”, and Ammoudi are also worth visiting. The distance to the South coast is about 40 minutes from the villa by car.  Crete is a magical island filled with myth and legend, a place to relax the ideal choice for all the family.
