Around those villages you will also be able to see some unique sightseeing spots like the Idaion Andro cave where the Zeus was born according to Greek Mythology and the cave Sfendoni and many more.

Furthermore if you are looking for privileges that only a big city can offer, then Rethymno town is just 30 km away and Heraklion town is 45 km away, both offering a wide variety of shops, facilities and entertainment.
